i think i have writer’s BLOCK

venturing into the unknown

all alone

i roam

into a desert biome

oh no, what is that i see?

a husk staring back at me

unequipped, no weapon in sight

we all know who’s going to win this fight

i respawn

at the crack of dawn

i wander into a cave

hoping it won’t become my grave

i’ve been mining for a while

mining diamonds is quite a trial

i search for a village

that i can pillage

aha! success

God bless

i raid the villagers’ chests

nobody protests

inside i find many treasures

one of them brings me the greatest of pleasures

i grab the iron armor

sucks for that farmer

to make things worse for him

i eat his crops till’ i’m filled to the brim

just for fun, i give him a punch

i better hide before the iron golem makes me his lunch

the sun has set

this is a day i will not soon forget

now it’s time to go to bed

before the monsters chop off my head

Malak is a sophomore and this is her second year writing for VC and her first year as EIC. When she's not writing questionable literature, she enjoys creating video segments for the Morning Buzz, participating in Speech & Debate, playing the flute in band, working in stage crew for the UM Underground Players, among many other extracurriculars. Outside of school (and procrastinating), Malak can be found watching an unhealthy amount of Netflix while drinking an unhealthy amount of cold brew.
